Subject: Review of tuning!

Thought I would give some feedback on your service and the different revision of ROM's.

I got in contact with Ed by searching on the internet for someone to tune my 2005 Subaru Outback 3.0R using open source software. Here in Sweden the EZ30 is not a common engine for tuning at all so pretty soon I turned to the world looking for answers!

Found a number of forum posts saying great things about Edward at XRT so I sent him an email asking about the tuning and his services, something I'm glad I did!

After a small discussion and many questions from my side, of which Ed answers patiently, I bought myself a new laptop and started logging!

Very pleased with Ed - patience and service minded, always wants what's best for his customer.

Here comes some comments on my impressions of v0, v1 and the stage 1 gearbox tune!

"When I flashed v0 and took the car for a drive, the first thing I noticed was the throttle response. A big improvement over stock! Felt much more agile and strong in the lower rev area. Loved it!

When the car had heated up and I started doing some more spirited driving I felt how much better the gearbox responded too! It was a new car to drive!

I opted for the stage 1 tuning of the gearbox to start with. All I can say is that it makes a huge difference compared to stock, in D and in sport mode! Will sooner or later end up with stage 2 because once you feel how big difference it does you are going to want more ;)"

"With the flashing of v1 I had some time to use the car as a daily (which it is supposed to be) and feel how the changes was in traffic. Already at this early stage of tuning I was pleased with how the car behaved when going trough the city in D, nice crisp feeling on the accelerator but calm enough to smoothly cruise trough traffic.

Overall it has made the car much more drivable and fun! Ed know his thing."

V8 Review

Feels really nice now! Power delivery is smooth and shifting is firm but not harsh :)

When driving in D around town, sometimes it's hard to notice the shifts, buttery and nice!
Really like the way the TC locks up early even when cruising, using the torque of the engine!

When in sport auto and going for it, the gears just slam by without any power loss during shifts, fast and firm.

It is clearly a big difference when the car has adapted, the gearbox is much quicker to respond and is better at predicting what gear I want! :)
