ECU Reset Procedure: For better Performance and Logging

Post by west_minist »

For logging, the customer should perform the following after receiving a XRT rom:
  1. Flash the rom to the car following Ecuflash instructions
  2. After turning off the car (based on Ecuflash instructions), wait 15secs and turn it on and use Romraider to reset the ECU by going to the Tools menu or press F7 on the keyboard while connected to the ecu. Please also reset the TCU by selecting the TCU and reset it. Please remember to reselect the ECU.
  3. Following Romraider instructions, turn the car off for 30secs and let all noise quiet down. Turn the car on and wait another 15sec and then start the car and let it idle for like 1-5mins while logging. The longer you let the car idle and warm up, the better it is.
  4. Drive the car like how your granny will drive for 10mins or less. More is better for the car to learn. This depends if you will take a while to get a log back to XRT. Stopping and starting and slowing down and speeding up slowly is the key.
  5. Start to drive increasingly aggressive (if you can) after 10mins or slightly less
  6. Log a few gear pulls without letting the car be still and heat soaking by running the engine and not moving. Dyno runs should be done as much as possible from the same starting poing, same direction on a flat level surface.
