During this process, you will log the car using the variables shown here and send me that log or logs with general driving and a few 2nd gear pulls if it is an Auto or 3rd Gear pulls if it is a Manual - all done from low in the rpm (1500+) till the rev limit. An example of a dyno pull is shown below: -

Preparation for logging including ECU Reset

Post by west_minist »

For logging, the customer should perform the following after receiving a XRT rom:
  1. Flash the rom to the car following Ecuflash instructions
  2. After turning off the car (based on Ecuflash instructions), wait 10secs and turn it on and use Romraider to reset the ECU by going to the Tools menu or press F7 on the keyboard while connected to the ecu.
  3. Following Romraider instructions, turn the car on after 10secs and let all noise quiet down. Turn the car off again. After 10secs, turn her on and wait another 10sec and then start the car and let it idle for like 1-5mins. The longer you let the car idle and warm up, the better it is.
  4. Drive the car like how your granny will drive for 10mins or less. More is better for the car to learn. This depends if you will take a while to get a log back to XRT. Stopping and starting and slowing down and speeding up slowly is the key.
  5. Start to drive increasingly aggressive (if you can) after 10mins or slightly less
  6. Log a few gear pulls without letting the car be still and heat soaking by running the engine and not moving. Dyno runs should be down as much as possible from the same starting poing, same direction on a flat level surface.
